Gary Kellett’s Architects Squarespace Website Design
Gary Kellett Architects is an award-winning architecture studio based in London. They approached us to create a Squarespace website for them that showcased their architecture projects and encouraged potential clients to enquire about a project.

We were excited to craft a Squarespace website redesign for London-based architecture firm, Gary Kellett Architects, giving them a digital platform to showcase their beautiful architectural portfolio.

Squarespace Website Design Goals
The aim of the site was to increase conversion, which in this instance, was related to enquiries for residential architecture projects in London, specifically Chelsea. So we made sure to shine a spotlight on their best projects in Chelsea, including projects in Sloane Street, Sloane Square and Cadogan Square.
In order to make it easy for people to get in touch, we used a sticky header so that the contact button was always in the users’ view, as well as adding a contact form in the footer at the bottom of every page.
High Converting, Flexible Website Design
We know that adding a contact form alone isn’t enough to encourage people to get in touch, it was also integral to the project that we created engaging and sophisticated layouts showcasing the projects and all the photos of the beautiful work that the client had done.
We used ‘sticky’ sections within the Squarespace website design to allow a more interesting and dynamic display of photos that enticed users to keep scrolling to reveal more images from the projects.
This also allowed us to create a portfolio page that was easy to populate regardless of how many images there were for the project. Some projects were uncompleted or in progress so we had to create a flexible layout was important to meet this requirement.
Portfolio Website Design
Getting the balance of the space was key, it was essential for us to create a design that had enough white space to let the images breathe, but not so much that the website felt plain or engaging.
By using a mix of full-width photos, inset images and sticky photos we achieved the perfect balance to guide the user down the page effectively. We also included material swatches on the page to reflect the level of attention detail that Gary Kellett Architects go to with their clients.
As a portfolio site, there were a lot of images on the website, so we made sure to resize all of the images to keep the site speed/load time fast, as well as rename the photos with keywords for SEO.

We also worked with Gary to choose a new font that complimented the logo. We chose an elegant and sophisticated serif font ‘Ramillas Light’ and adjusted the kerning to tighten the text slightly, to mirror the serifs in the ‘G’ and ‘K’ of the logo.
The finished product? A beautiful portfolio Squarespace website design that not only elegantly showcases the varying architectural projects in Gary Kellett’s repertoire, but is built to ensure client enquiries.
