Mindful Champs take the Gold!

Mindful Champs have won Gold in the Junior Design Awards for the Grief Journal, designed by us!

It’s always fantastic to hear when our designs have helped a client win an award, especially when that design is for something meaningful and brilliant. The Mindful Champs Grief Journal helps young children to cope, understand and deal with the strong emotions that come along with the death of a loved one. At such a young age, it can change a child’s development. Mindful Champs aim to educate children in mindfulness and awareness of their emotional well-being, which should be advocated in all schools and family homes.

 

The journal design

The Grief Journal is a concept that is something that is very personal to Nima, the CEO and Founder of Mindful Champs. Our aim was to take the confidence we had in creating her brand and let her guide us through the child’s journey to create something truly unique. Incorporating all of the Mindful Champs colours and typography established in the original brand design.

Written and designed specifically for children, this journal is broken down into simple activities, aimed to help them understand what grief is and comfort them after losing a loved one.

Filled with touching and inspiring prompts, children are gently encouraged to explore their emotions, say things that were left unsaid, and be grateful for the memories they are now left with.

We wanted a neutral way to represent emotions without using faces or people so the children didn’t feel influenced by the emotions they were seeing. We wanted to make the journal feel empathetic and allow for all the emotions of grief to be present throughout this journal. Through the use of the more neutral, cooler brand colours we created a safe and inviting environment for children to process their grief.

Mindful Champs Success

Since we helped them launch their brand and website in 2020, Mindful Champs has developed into an amazing business. They began with just two items, but they are now developing and selling fifteen different products and stocking in prestigious stores such as Liberty’s of London, Costa and Moonpig.

We feel incredibly proud to continue working with Nima and Mindful Champs as the business grows and we get to keep creating such amazing and unique items.
