Salt Productions, founded by acclaimed actor and filmmaker Stanley Tucci, and producer Lottie Birmingham, needed a refined online presence that reflected their creative excellence and cinematic storytelling. They approached Studio 77 to design and build a Squarespace microsite that would showcase the company’s film and television projects whilst capturing the personality and sophistication of the brand.
Squarespace Project Overview
We were approached and tasked to design a clean, timeless microsite that conveys Salt’s premium aesthetic while keeping navigation effortless. The Squarespace website needed to highlight key productions, provide background on the company, and serve as a professional digital touchpoint for press and partners.

Squarespace website design goals
Salt Productions’ work speaks for itself, beautifully shot, storytelling-led, and effortlessly cinematic. So, our goal was to design a website that let the visuals do the talking. Rather than adding unnecessary layers of design, we focused on creating a clean, editorial space that feels timeless and sophisticated. Generous breathing room, elegant typography, and subtle microinteractions allow each frame of film to shine, while smooth transitions guide visitors through the site with ease.
Custom Code Elements
We chose Squarespace for its balance of usability and design flexibility, ensuring Stanley Tucci’s team could easily manage content while maintaining a premium aesthetic. To elevate the experience further, we integrated custom code enhancements — from refined hover states to bespoke video treatments — giving the site a polished, bespoke finish without sacrificing simplicity.
Visually, we developed a brand colour palette for Salt Productions: warm, editorial tones that reflect the company’s creative identity.
A soft black adds cinematic depth, while a rich saffron nods subtly to Stanley’s love of food. Balanced with accessible greys and crisp off-whites, the palette brings warmth and clarity to the Squarespace website design.
