Squarespace Website Launch for Stanley Tucci’s new video production company, Salt Productions

When we were approached to design and build a new website for Salt Productions, timing couldn’t have been better. The team was preparing for the UK release of ‘Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy’ on Disney+, and needed a home for their work that was ready to meet the moment; a portfolio that felt cinematic, confident, and quietly bold.

This wasn’t our first time working with a creative team in TV and film. In fact, we’ve worked with a number of incredible companies across the industry — from the advocacy-focused Welfare in TV & Film, to director Sam Calverley’s clean and elegant portfolio, to production collective TV Rise, whose site we built to reflect their high-energy, collaborative ethos. Each one brought something different, but with Salt Production, it was all about restraint, warmth, and clarity.

Salt Productions’ work speaks for itself.

Salt Productions’ work speaks for itself — beautifully shot, editorial, storytelling-led film — so we knew the site didn’t need a lot of bells and whistles. Instead, we wanted to create a space where the videos could do the talking. Clean, minimal design and plenty of breathing room let the visuals take centre stage, while subtle details like microinteractions and smooth transitions help guide the viewer.

We built the site in Squarespace for ease of content management, but added custom code to create a more bespoke, polished experience. From hover states to video treatments, we pushed the template to do more, while keeping everything intuitive and lightweight behind the scenes.

Visually, we created a new set of brand colours for Salt Productions. Warm, editorial, and just a little unexpected. A soft ‘black’ gives depth without harshness, while the rich saffron yellow nods to the theme of food. A range of accessible greys and off-whites round out the palette, keeping everything crisp and usable.

We're excited to see what’s next for Salt Productions — but for now, we’ll be watching ‘Tucci in Italy’ (again) and enjoying the feeling of a site that captures who they are.

Take a look at the website for yourself!
